9 months

It's been 9 months since my last blog post so I figured it is high time I get a new post up, maybe two if I'm feeling ballsy. Things have changed a bit since Thanksgiving. My mom got married, I have a new job and I've done a handful of plays. I've closed three shows this year so far including Who Says This Isn't Love and Global WARPing.

I spent a few weeks out on Camano Island doing work for a vaudeville legend Reverend Chumleigh in exchange for some help with my own vaudeville acts. I may need to start a blog dedicated entirely to my vaudeville stuff since it may be the only thing that is of much interest to the everyman reader.

Things are going well with me and my girlfriend of 4 years Lucia and I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with her. How about some movie reviews?

Homeless for the Holidays

A special shout out to those like me who aren't getting to spend time with their families for the holiday. I don't know about you but I think I'm gonna go get a turkey sandwich at Subway or something. Gotta have the turkey.

If you're bumbed, just remember that it's almost Christmas and it's even worse to not be home for that! Go holiday orphans!

All aside there are a lot of things I'm thankful for and like the Charlie Brown special says, it's really all about giving thanks today. And I am. Hope you all have a good dinner and good times!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The Future

I lost my second producer last week. He's too busy with school to commit to the company so it looks like I'm doing this mostly on my own. I don't mind too much, it gives me a lot more control over casting and such but it was nice having the weekly meetings to keep me on track.

I've had a show I've wanted to produce for years which hasn't coalesced yet. It's a two person show that might include an accordion player or someone who can play a Wurlitzer. You might be like "WTF IS THAT!?". You will have to come to the show to find out.

But yeah there's that project and I'm considering putting together a sketch comedy troupe. Other plans include auditioning for Jet City Improv and developing a show with my girlfriend. A sultry singer/vaudeville clown cabaret comedy show extravaganza!

I'm also writing for MetBlogs and getting to see a lot of free theatre because of it. Oh! Did I mention I won first place at Jet City Improv's costume contest on Halloween? I did. As the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz. I did a little move and people loved it. I got a year pass to Jet City Improv and all Wing-It production shows. Awesome.

YouTube is Down

Update: Looks like it is finally back up at 5:18PM! Yay YouTube!

Just when I put together an awesome little halloween montage YouTube goes down! Damn it! I can't find any info but it's 5pm PST now so if you're planning on YouTubing tonight you may be waiting a while.

Open Mic

I went to an open mic tonight at the Wayward Coffee House in Greenwood. A LOT of good came from it. Not only did I get to hear some really good poetry and live music performances but I met a woman who does spiritual advising and needs a webmaster. Well since I did Robin Adair's page I thought "Shoot, I can do her's too!" I've made all of 50 bucks for my work with Robin which is actually not bad at all for the couple of hours it took me to build her site. I enjoyed it and it helped me land a job with this new lady.

For both of them I've offered to work for free unless they come across some money and want to pay me down the line. Which Robin has and which rocks. In the meantime this woman has agreed to do advising for me for free, she has an amazing skill at reading people and figuring out what it is they need to get to the next step. She may tell you things you know, don't know you know or she may blow your mind like she did me when she told me exactly what I need to do to get to my next step.

She's also offered to do advising at events and parties for me if I have any and has offered me money as she gets it, which is great. Even if I don't make money my web design resume is getting snazzy, a senatorial candidate and an advisor's page. Things like this can keep happening to me, I'm good with that.

The open mic itself was awesome, some really amazing poets and artists there, shit I may have to read next week. I'll be blogging about the performances themselves at metblogs so you should see it on the right there tonight or tommorrow.

Tickle Me Elmo TMX

The new Tickle Me Elmo TMX is out. My Teddy Ruxpin could never do that. I'm not sure if TMX can hold a candle to the story telling bear but he's still pretty cool.
